When a plant buyer searches for a DK-Lok distributor, they're usually not just shopping for the lowest price on a male connector. They want to know the parts are real, that they'll show up when the job needs them, and that someone will pick up the phone when something doesn't fit. After 20 years in the instrumentation valve and fitting business, here's what I think you should expect from an authorized DK-Lok distributor, and what to ask before you send a PO.
1. Parts From the Authorized Channel
Buying from an authorized distributor means the fittings and valves come straight through the manufacturer's approved supply chain. You know where they came from and who stands behind them. On a pressure system, that matters more than saving a few cents on a no-name part with a familiar-looking hex.
Ask any supplier plainly: "Are you authorized by DK-Lok?" A real distributor will tell you yes without hesitating.

2. Help Crossing Over Part Numbers
Most plants already have Swagelok or Parker on the drawings. A good distributor reads those part numbers and gives you the matching DK-Lok part, line by line, instead of handing the BOM back to you. We do this every day through our brand cross-reference page.
It also helps to know the parts work together. DK-Lok tube fittings are 100% interchangeable and intermixable with Swagelok and Parker A-Lok for like size and material, properly assembled per the DK-Lok catalog. In ASTM F1387 testing witnessed by TÜV Rheinland, 14 combinations of intermixed DK-Lok and Swagelok nuts, front ferrules, back ferrules and bodies passed 100% of the intermix testing, with "No failure observed," and DK-Lok backs it with a written intermix guarantee. See also the Parker A-Lok interchangeability letter.

3. Stock and Fast Turnaround
A shutdown doesn't wait for a six-week lead time. Ask what's on the shelf and how fast an order leaves the building. At A-Best Industrial Inc. Fittings, Valves, and Tubing, orders ship the same day we receive your PO, and we offer after-hours emergency service when a line goes down outside normal hours.
Ask about the rest of the job, too. A distributor that also stocks the tubing, hose and pipe saves you from chasing three vendors. We carry 316/316L and 304/304L stainless tubing (DFARS compliant), Inconel, electropolished, Teflon and nylon tubing. See our tubing page.

4. Paperwork That Matches the Job
Military, utility and plant jobs often come with documentation requirements. Tell your distributor up front what the job calls for, such as DFARS compliance, so it ships with the order instead of turning into a scramble at closeout. We supply DFARS compliant fittings and tubing for U.S. Military applications.
5. Someone Who Knows How to Install It
The best fitting in the world leaks if the tube is cut crooked or the nut is under-tightened. Your distributor should be able to talk through tube prep and make-up, not just take orders. On our tools page you'll find RIDGID tube cutters made for stainless steel, deburring tools, pre-swaging tools, gap inspection gauges, the GRIP-IT TOOL and the Fitting Tool.

We also offer a free Safety training course for new and existing customers. It's a good fit for new techs who'll be working around pressurized lines. Details are on our training page.
